Admission Procedure

Admission Requirements

The course is open to any interested person who:

  • Is a Pennsylvania resident
  • Is a high school graduate with a diploma from an accredited school or has a Pennsylvania GED
  • Achieves satisfactory scores on the pre-admission test
  • Complies with the submission of required information, including references, transcripts, pre-admission physical/dental exams, evidence of CPR certification, PA State Police Request for Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Fingerprint
Sequence for Admission
  • Submit an application
  • Take the pre-admission test (you will be scheduled)
  • Submit references/transcripts following notification of acceptable pre-admission test scores
    Personal interview
  • Submit other required information
  • Financial aid information session
Advanced Standing Opportunity

Applicants must meet all the requirements for admission. Credit for previous experience and education related to nursing may be given through challenge exams.

Graduates of the program are educationally prepared to take the NCLEX-PN Examination to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.

The Practical Nursing Program is subject to a Drug Prevention Program and a Campus Security Act.

 

The Lebanon County Career and Technology Center (LCCTC) Practical Nursing Program receives support through the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006 (Perkins IV). This act is designed to help all students develop their academic, career, and technical skills to prepare for high skill, high wage, and high demand occupations in current or emerging professions. The act places an increased focus on the academic achievement of career and technical education students, improves state and local accountability, and strengthens the connections between secondary and postsecondary education through the development and implementation of Career and Technical Programs of Study.

Funding support for the Practical Nursing Program is received from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  If the state reimbursement to the program changes, the tuition rate for the program will change accordingly.

Comprehensive Cost

Each student is responsible for the comprehensive costs of the program which include tuition, text books, and supplies.  The student is also responsible for any expenses incurred for the pre-admission test and expenses related to the physical and dental examinations, PA State Request for Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Fingerprinting.

 

 

Application fee: $35 non-refundable, cash or money order only
